Location
This photo was taken in the Little India neighborhood, in Singapore during my Round the World Trip.Time
It was about the noon. In Singapore I was very limited in time, so I had no opportunity to return and retake any picture.Lighting
The light was very hard and deep shadows were there. In this situation I liked the light which was suits the graphic scene.Equipment
I used Nikon D7000 with my travel lens 18-200. The camera was hand-holded without tripod.Inspiration
I walked in the Little India and came across a greengrocery. My attention was captured by the beautiful rows of the vegetables, but especially by the cucumbers of an unusual nature. At least I thought these are cucumbers. Only after couple of years I realized that these are not cucumbers at all. Its name is "bitter gourd" and it is a kind of melon, named also "bitter melon", a tropical plant typical for Asia.Editing
Actually almost not. I took it in RAW so what I made it just regular operations for RAW - contrast and sharpening. In my camera bag
Camera (obviously). For such a long trip I chose to take a lens 18-200 which is compact and covers a wide range of situations and also is not too expensive. I often use a polarizer filter, always have with me a tripod and a remote for low light sessions.Feedback
Get closer to the object! There's any advanced technique in this picture, every newbie could take something similar. The composition, that what I liked in this frame. If something captures your eye, especially if it doesn't move, take more pictures from several angles. I recommend always to take the picture in RAW.
