Location
This photo was taken in my backyard, Windsor, OntarioTime
It was around noon (usually a bad time for photography) but it was a cloudy day and little to no windLighting
It was a dark cloudy day - nothing special. I was just thinking that that day was a bad day for taking photos when the bug show up in my garden.Equipment
I used a Nikon D7100 with Tamron SP 60 mm F/2 macro lens. I used a tripod and tried with the flash - I didn't like the result because of the reflective surfaces of the bug. Even if it was a cloudy day the light on the bug was not even - I had to improvise a reflector from tin foil.Inspiration
I don't have a specific type of photography but taking macro pictures of bugs always get me going.Editing
Since I shot RAW I did some editing using LightroomIn my camera bag
Because I'm not a specific photographer - I'm always prepared for anything so my bag is a big backpack: camera, Tamron 17-50 F2.8 lens, Tamron 60 mm F/2 macro lens, Nikon 70-200 F2.8 VR lens, teleconverter, filters, flash, tripod, cable release, water, (cigarettes - for the times I have to wait few hours for the right light :) )Feedback
Macro photography require patience and taking many shots. Sometimes (most of the times) your subject is not cooperative and faster than your focus, a pale of wind is throwing your focus away. I remember I spend a day trying to capture an ant in the right spot. But when you get everything together (focus, light, background, etc.) the results are impressive because you show something that you don't normally see.
