The detail and focus on the eyes is grand, as is the wonderful detail on the snout. Golden light makes this image spark my imagination. Congratulations!

This photo was taken in the Okavango Delta in Botswana. It was one of the first sightings of the visit.I am a self taught photographer and this differential light was challenging to get a good photo.Time
This was taken in the late afternoon golden light and this was a young male leopard in a tree ,but he was comfortable and not bothered by us in the landrover below him.Eventually he came down and moved to another tree further away from usLighting
This was late afternoon golden light but the lighting was intriguing because of the differential light created by the leaves and branches in the treeEquipment
This was taken with a canon 7d and a canon 500mm lens.I also take my wildlife photos hand held and never use a monopod or a tripod as i can make very quick changes .I did not use a flash here but sometimes a flash with all the shadows is valuable in this type of lighting.Inspiration
We were on a game drive looking for big cats and birds and our ranger somehow spotted this leopard in the tree while we were all lokking forward and to the sides!!Editing
I did minimal post processing as i do with most of my photos and that included some mild cropping,a little increased saturation and mild sharpeningIn my camera bag
My typical camera bag on an African safari which i do once a year now includes everything I have dreamed about including a Canon 1 DX that i use with a canon 200-400 mm lens,a canon 7d mk II which i use with a canon 500mm lens and usually a 1.4 x extender for birds ,a canon 5d mk III and a 24 -135 mm lens or a wide angle lensFeedback
The most important advice for wildlife is to check your settings before you start the morning game drive so you are not on the settings from the previous night drive, always have an extra camera body, and it is always about the light!!
