Location
This photo was taken in my makeshift home studio (a.k.a. my living room).Time
It was mid-afternoon probably, since I am almost never at home in the mornings; you know, work and all.Lighting
So, the vase was sitting on top of the living room's table; I was just passing by the living room, and the way lighting was playing tricks on the rose petals caught my eye. So I got my camera and took a few shots, and then I figured the water droplets would make a lovely addition.Equipment
My Nikon D3200 and the 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6G kit lens. Sometimes "starter" equipment works wonders. Oh, and a spray bottle, to add the water droplets.Inspiration
I love roses, and this particular one was looking so majestic and mysterious, sitting there in that vase, that I absolutely had to take a shot.Editing
For the most part, I don't like editing my photos much; in most cases, I go for the "what you see is what you get" approach. In my camera bag
My Nikon D3200 of course, and the Nikkor 18-55 mm f/3.5-5.6 lens (which I almost never use, but I always bring along), my Tamron 70-300mm f/4-5.6 and my Nikkor 50mm f/1.8G prime lens. I love using the prime lens, especially with portraits, because you have to get really close to the subject. I also carry my polarising filters and my remote controller, because you never know when they might come in handy.Feedback
I am not really good with giving advice of any sort, but I'll give it a try. I started with flower photography, because a) I love flowers and nature and b) flowers don't move. The more I practised though, the more I loved it, and not just because flowers are still; the colours, the little details, you can't overlook those things. So, learn to pay attention to details; and be patient too; it can take a while to get that perfect shot. I have a folder with about 300 photos of just this rose, and I used just one.
