Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken near Sintra in a hot and shiny day in Portugal.

Time

The photo was taken maybe by 3/4 PM in a hard light situation but i really liked the final result.

Lighting

I tried to use the hard light that was coming to give the photograph a strong and powerful look.

Equipment

I used a Nikon D5100 with a 55-200 MM Lens.

Inspiration

What really inspired to take this photo was my father who is the person on the photo. When i take pictures i like to capture the best moments and thought this could be one of them.

Editing

I did post-processing and i used Adobe Lightroom. I enjoy the whole process of editing my pictures and i really liked this one. I knew that this photo would absolutely need a high contrast and then after that i would be just playing and making experiences trying to get the best result. I tried to put it in black and white and the result, in my opinion, was great!

In my camera bag

Normally i have my Nikon D5100 and my lens and i really love the 55-200 to shoot portraits. I know it's a kit lens and i'm thinking on making an upgrade and buy the 50MM 1.8 Prime Lens which i thing it's superb for my kind oh photography.

Feedback

Just go out, shoot what you really like and capture the best moment! That's my advice for others photographers.
