Behind The Lens

Location

My wife and i were visiting Dubai and it was our first time visiting the Dubai marina, where this 90 degree twisting building is situated. i was lucky enough to find a nice spot to take a full length photo of it. It is a very impressive construction.

Time

It was about 3.20pm and within a couple of hours it would be nighttime in Dubai. So natural light was more than enough to assist with this capture.

Lighting

Natural sun light as it was a lovely clear sunny day.

Equipment

It was taken with a Sony Bridge camera and handheld.

Inspiration

Its a very unique building, a one off for sure. So for me to be standing there looking at this incredible architecture i had to try to capture it for others to see and also for a lasting memory if i am not able to return there again.

Editing

No post processing was done as at the time i did not use any software to enhance any of my photos.

In my camera bag

If i am on holiday, as i was here, i would have my Sony Bridge with its 50x zoom and it also allowed for manual settings if needed. I also have my Samsung Note mobile phone and the excellent camera that it has. Now i also have a thin point and shoot with me to the shot that maybe my mobile will not allow me to get a good shot.

Feedback

This photo was not too difficult to take, but to get the full length i had to walk to where the boats were not obscuring the view of the base of the building. I think the full length shot is an essential for this unique twister.
