The Superpit in Kalgoorlie. Definitely a different kind of tourist attraction. I mean, who didn't like to play in the sandbox as a kid? And when you grow up, the projects just get bigger, right? But this goldmine in Western Australia bursts all limits: 4 teams with 80 drivers each carry out tonnes of rocks and ore everyday, 24-7 (1,5 h can be seen in this picture), and only 1 out of 7 trucks carrys actually gold - only about the size of a golfball. But in one year, they extract 800.000 ounzes of gold (22.679 kg) with a current value of 766.340.419 € (or 1.119.188.466 AUD)! The Kcgm Superpit is planning to dig this hole until 2029 - and its appearance will change continually.
