I wasn't sure what to expect as I planned my outing the evening before the nights heavy snow storm. In the morning, I was to venture out into the streets, roads and countryside in search of a Winter scene that begged to be photographed. We have all been there.....you stumble upon a shoot that humbles you and sends a flush of impassioned blood throughout your body! When I say that I got the "Chills" on that cold Winter day of 1/6/15, I would not be referring to the temperature. This shot slowly developed as I watched the "Silver Fox" patrol it's territory at Wildlife Prairie Park. He walked gracefully while listening along a well established but snow covered trail. Every now and then I would give a try at capturing him pounce on something buried in the deep snow but for both of us, to no success. Eventually, the image you see came into play and I could not wait to get it into the computer. Very little editing was needed. Other than cropping, the fox's back and paws/legs were darkened just a bit to better contrast against the freshly fallen snow. Taken with the wonderful, Panasonic Lumix FZ200/F2.8 throughout it's 25mm to 600mm Leica lens (wish it had a larger sensor than the current 12mp. Maybe a newer, 2016 model will have it). Exposure: F4/800/iso100Time

With the freshly fallen snow so predominate and contrasting shadows, I had to pay attention to the exposure.Equipment

With the terrific Leica Lens (25 - 600 optical) on the Panasonic Lumix FZ200 I don't usually miss a shot. Other than gel filters or flash, rarely are other pieces of equipment needed.Feedback
Get to know your equipment. Everyone knows this and and the less time thinking about what needs to be done means you will capture more good images in less time!
