Location
This photo was taken in a beech forest close to my home in the Flemish Ardennes in BelgiumTime
Before sunrise I was on site. It was a foggy spring day. The leaves on the trees had yet to sprout. This allowed me to see sunrise well.Lighting
I wanted to capture the orange glow of the sun. For this reason, I manually set the white balance to 10000 K.Equipment
My standard equipment is a Nikon D300 or D700 and a tripod. This photo was taken with my Nikon 200 macro Lens.Inspiration
With this image I wanted to capture the welcoming of spring. The first rays of sunlight burning away the cold winter.Editing
Little post processing has been performed on the photo. It has been cropped a little and the saturation has been increased .In my camera bag
I usually have a Macro lens in my bag. I also have a photo bellows to take super macros and I always use a tripod. .Feedback
Try to know your camera and get rid of the automatic settings of your camera. By playing with the white balance you can create special effects.
