Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in my home garden in mauritius. I am a self taught amateur photographer, every shoot is a challenge for me.

Time

It is probably one of my favorite images. i wake up at 5.00 am. That day, it was a cold morning and took a stroll in my garden and saw a bunch of roses had bloom , that scene was breathtaking. i remember back then i didn't own a tripod so i had to balance the camera and the thorny branch using my hand. This image was taken in august 13th 2013 at 6.49 a.m

Lighting

i wanted the natural lightning from the golden hour of the rising sun to be filled in the frame. So i had to wait for the perfect moment. like they say "patience is bitter but it's fruit is sweet".

Equipment

Back then in 2013 i couldn't afford a dslr , this shot was taken wsing a Sony dsc-w190 point and shoot camera.

Inspiration

well, inspiration can come in any form , in my case it came from 'mother nature'. "LOOK DEEP INTO NATURE AND YOU WILL UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING BETTER" A quote from Albert Einstein

Editing

Back then , i had no post processing skills , the only setting i knew was to adjust saturation and brightness in the camera itself.

In my camera bag

It's been more than 1 year i own a dslr , a sony alpha 3000 mirrorless , basic 18-55mm lens, mirror lens Quantaray 500mm, tokina lens 80-200 mm, Hama star 63 tripod , macro flash, lens extension adapter af, coking filters ND, ir remote, lens cleaner , flash diffuser, extra battery and SD card .

Feedback

"Take a quite walk With Mother nature It will nurture your mind, body and soul". You will find your inspiration there !
