Outer Banks wild ponies in Carova, NC.

I was fortunate this day while visiting the 4x4 community of Carova, NC to have the herd show up on the beach and hang out a while while we were there. Healthy and playful, several of them splashed in the surf and played with each other.

While photographing this trio the lead pony became interested in me or my camera. Each time I moved further away, they kept coming up close to me. I eventually had to get in my truck until they lost interest. Our little game was fun and interesting and I could've kept going and snapping but I always try to respect the wildlife engagement rules, these ponies however apparently do not!
