Location
The photo was taken in my great grandfather's house in the countryside called Surubim. The little girl is my cousin, Manu.Time
It was taken around 2 PM, I thought it could be a great idea try to photograph her. Now I'm sure (and so glad) I got a awesome photo.Lighting
No special skill or secret technique, just a little attention to the light direction. My goal was the light beams iluminate just a half of her face.Equipment
I use a Canon 600D (T3i in Brazil) with a 50mm F1.8 lens in the most of the time.Inspiration
My intention was to achieve something close to Sean Archer's portraits style (it's so impressive the way he uses that textured backgrounds) with a black and white style inspired by Sebastião Salgado's photos. Sebastião is a master and passionate for life photographer, everybody must to know his work.Editing
Yes, The photo was converted to black and white color and it was added a vignette too.In my camera bag
Just my Canon 600D and the 50mm F1.8 and 18-55 f3.5-5.6 lenses.Feedback
Yes, look for Sean Archer and Sebastiao Salgado’s works.
