A haunting image of mundane objects.
It has a heavy feel to it, as if the air was thick, filled with a musty smell and hard to breath.
Awesome shot, even more cool it was shot on large format and hand processed !

Behind The Lens
Location
I made this photograph in the deserted Uptown Theater in Superior, Arizona.Time
It was an early morning around 6am on a Saturday morning.Lighting
The light came from a roof that was no more. The walls were light in color and provided enough bounce light to make my exposure.Equipment
I used a modified zone IV Wista 4x5 field camera using a 120 super angulon lens by Schneider. My tripod at the time was a Zone IV wooded tripod. The sheet film used was Tri-X 320, tray developed in HC110 dilution-B for 6 and 1/2 minutes. My other piece of equipment is a modified Zone IV Pentax spot meter.Inspiration
I have been working on a "World Without People" project for my website-roypopephotography.com Emotionally inspired by the chairs, feeling the energy of the various people and couples who had at one time shared time together sitting in these theater chairs. I could hear the energy and feel past presence of the occupants of this movie theater.Editing
I scanned the 4x5 negative, adjusted for density and contrast. In my camera bag
I love my Wista 4x5, it is my baby. I use 2 lenses by Schneider, a pentax spot meter, and a Gitzo carbon fiber tripod with a 3 way head.Feedback
Look, feel, and participate in your senses. This type of subject demands an exploration of vision and the senses that we as photographers bring to the world.
