For Memorial Day this year we took our kids to a local military cemetery so we could show them and explain why exactly we celebrate this holiday. I captured this pic of my littlest two comforting each other as they gazed at all the fallen heros.

This was the start of a family traditional for us. We wanted our kids to appreciate the cost of freedom in America so we decided to take them to our National Cemetery on Memorial Day to honor those who have served our country. This was their first time being in a cemetery. As we were walking the cemetery I noticed that my youngest two children had stopped walking. When I turned around I saw that they had stopped to take in the view of the thousands of headstones surrounding them and what they represented. I found my children providing comfort to each other as they realized what they were seeing and what it meant.Editing
This photo has no post processing. In my camera bag
When this picture was taken I only had one camera, my Canon Rebel, in my photo bag. I was just starting out at taking photography seriously and didn't even own any other equipment.Feedback
Be ready to capture the candid moments in life. To do this have your camera with you always...you never know when a scene will ask you to take a picture.
