I took this photo in my home town, Detroit Michigan. The photo features the MacArthur Bridge connecting the city to Belle IsleTime
September 27, 2012 at 4pm. I was home visiting family and whenever I go home I always set aside a day or two just for me to go out and take pictures. Its a time when I feel truly in my element. There's a reason why sports teams generally do better at home games vs away games. it's the same way for me when I go home, it's my time to connect w myself as an artist, a photographer, an adventurer.Lighting
Autumn in Michigan is a big hit or miss. some days the sun will be bright and shining then other days heavy overcast. on this day it was the overcast.Equipment
honestly, I was in the beginning phase of my craft. this photo was taken with a canon snapshot! lol I purchased a dslr a year later.Inspiration
It's a beautiful bridge. I love the arches and from the angle I took it at how it looks like it's never ending.Editing
because it was an overcast day, I digitally edited the photo to a sepia color tone, which gave it an old timey look and evened out all the other color tones, then I added a vignette edit and that gave me a beautiful almost blush glow over the bridge. In my camera bag
I still consider myself an amateur photographer. I have a day job, hopefully one day this could become a career but for not its my hobby. I have a dslr canon t6i w the standard 18-55mm lens and a tripod. I think my next big purchase related to photography will be a wide angle lens.Feedback
take the shot! take every shot at every angle! don't be afraid to move around, get close, or back up if need be. The best way to learn is through trial and error.
