This wasn't my first trip to Big Sur but it was the first opportunity that I have had to be able to explore Big Sur. This location was near one of my campsites and took quite a bit of bush whacking and bouldering to get to. Once I settled in with rocks on one side of me and waves on the other I knew it was just a matter of waiting for the sky to align with the rest of my composition. Rain was threatening and it sprinkled intermittently but I held steadfast to my spot until all of the elements aligned for this shot. I shot nearly 80 long exposure frames of this scene, but after snapping this frame I knew I had connected each element just as I had imaged it!
