Is this man from the Veddas? We should not regard the tribe out of context here. There have been many indiginous tribes in Ceylon in the past. They are bound to have mingled with other races on the island over the past 1000 years. This is an excellent photograph showing one of the last descendants of his tribe. Good piece of history - not histrionics!

This man is the "Famous Primate" of VB in my opinion. I do hope you've started turning these photos to NatGeo by now. How I'd love to talk or listen to things he would tell of... Bare choice of simplicity in life... Have they ever been welcomed to other ways? blessings, Cheryl

Thanks so much. There is no electricity where they live. The language is different to Singhala but can understand to a certain extent.
