This photo was taken on Newfound Lake in NH.Time
My son wakes up at the crack of dawn so we went down around 6am to catch the must rising off the lake.Lighting
I think I was lucky with the light on this shot. I was expecting a clear bright sunrise but was confronted with a bright but overcast day which I think ultimately made the shot so elegant.Equipment
I shot this with a Nikon D3100 and the kit lense, I shot it almost fully closed with a longer shutter speed, around 1/8th on tripod.Inspiration
I had been driving past this location for awhile and was looking for some shots to create some fine art prints.Editing
Post work on this shot was minimal. I did a little color correction and cleaned up any distracting specks. Other than that it's pretty close to what I captured.In my camera bag

Plan your shoot, look at sunrise calculators, I would have taken N.D filters in hindsight. Just look for something that moves you and consider how best to capture to convey is beauty to everyone else.
