Location
I took it in the surroundings of San Martino d'Agri, a little town in the wild of Southern Italy.Time
It was around noon. It's the best time to take shoots at the Kites because they are very active in hunting their preys in the middle of the day.Lighting
I was lucky because this Kite, during one of his passages near the ground, decided to take a narrow bend and fly direct towards me.Equipment
I used a Nikon D7000 + 300 f/4 + TC 1,7x. I took it freehand.Inspiration
I really love nature photography and in particular I like shots in which animals are watching directly in the camera.Editing
I rotated counterclockwise a little bit and then I cropped a 10-15% in order to perfectly center the subject. I obviously set brightness-contrast-saturation and so on.In my camera bag
I only have the Nikon D7000 as body and then I have with me the Sigma 10-20 mm., the Nikon 18-105 mm., the Tokina 100 mm. macro and the Nikon 300 f/4.Feedback
You will need a lot of patience with animals, especially with Kites: they are very evasive and mistrustful ones.
