A color version of a still life I had in mind. I found a vase at a resale shop and repainted it. My wife painted the table some years ago and I liked the sort of rustic look, but I had to lift the table off the ground about 8 inches so the chair rail would not be visible. I also pulled the table away from the wall about 18 inches to prevent a sharper focus on the wall and to let the floral arrangement fill out a bit - these lilies are pretty big. This photograph is a combination of fifteen individual images at three slightly different bracketed exposures. The five images from each exposure are combined to reduce noise and increase resolution, and the resulting three "super-resolution" images are combined to leverage HDR processing for a subtle increase in latitude. I didn't want an extreme HDR appearance. I will be making a frame out of walnut or oak, staining it in a reddish mahogany, and matting in warm coordinating colors, too.

Very creative treatment. It reminds me of an old masters oil painting. Congrats on being featured!

Thank you! I've wondered if I had seen something like this long ago and the vague mental image has stuck with me, but is no longer traceable in my memory.
