I see we have trouble, trouble in River City. Well, I don't know about River City, but this bird standing in front of this Bald Eagle has got real problems at hand. This is really good.

Location
I took this photo in a coastal town of AlaskaTime
I took this shot in the early afternoonLighting
The lighting was all natural and was a very easy shot to make since it was all front lighting on the eagle, so the intensity was very clear.Equipment
I use a Nikon D300S with a Nikon 28-300 lens. I shot this free hand and no other equipment.Inspiration
I was watching an Eagle staking his territory with other eagles when this young seagull landed. I was lucky enough to be in the right spot to be able to catch the serious stare and intensity while this eagle was just getting ready to chase the seagull away. Lucky for the seagull, he caught flight just before the eagle launched. Happy ending.Editing
I did very little post processing on this photo. I do use Lightroom to kick up the contrast and color a bit but try to keep the photo as close to what I saw when I took the shot.In my camera bag
When I travel light I usually carry a Sigma 55mm along with a couple of filters, an extra battery, my tripod and a lens cloth.Feedback
just be prepared and ready with your camera when taking shots of birds. Knowing the nature and habits of eagles really helps when trying to get great shots that capture emotion and intensity. Keep clicking and don't quit to early, great shots will happen if you wait for them to come.
