After so many attempts to photograph just one of the MANY amazing butterflies that Taiwan boasts, I finally got lucky.
This beauty often uses its long proboscis (curled up in this photo) to probe in muddy soil or gravel to get the moisture it needs. Males are strongly territorial and always stay in high positions to defend their territory.
