Location
The shot was taken in Grand Teton National Park.Time
I believe it was late morning. A sign of my total ignorance of basic photograhic principles.Lighting
My photographic skill level then approximated "complete ignorance". At the time, from my perspective "if there was sunlight and it was not in your face, take the shot"!Equipment
This was a hand held "happy snap" taken with a Canon C3030Z point and shoot camera. It was over 5 years ago and long before I developed an interest in photography. I guess you could refer to this capture as a happy accident or "dumb luck".Inspiration
Plain and simple appreciation for the natural beauty of the scene, which is nothing unusual in one of the most beautiful areas of the country.Editing
At the time I had absolutely no knowledge of post processing procedures. This shot was truly "what you see is what you get".In my camera bag
My interest in photography began as a result of a love of scuba diving and a desire to capture the beauty of the ocean. After relocating well away from the ocean I decided to continue my photo endeavors on land, quickly realizing that I (pardon the pun) was a "fish out of water". Like many who are new to the craft I reasoned that good equipment would instantly produce great photographs. After several iterations of gear I have settled on and am in possession of 4 mirrorless cameras (2 Sony, and 2 Canon) with an assortment of lenses for each. So "whats in my bag" depends on which camera(s) I want to practice with and believe me after over a year, it is still a lot of practice! I am finally learning that cameras don't make great photographs, skilled photographers make great photographs.Feedback
As has been said many times by many more accomplished people than I, "it is not the destination but the journey that should be enjoyed".
