The detail in this is amazing. Is that a true reflection in its eyes? How did you get so close?

Location
This photo was taken at Chiang Mai, the north of Thailand where there are a lot of trees that you can find more spiders as well as other insects than in the city as Bangkok.Time
This was taken on December 2nd, 2014 at 4 P.M.Lighting
To me, light is very important for my macro photo. Enough light with proper setting will help to create great details of your photos. I use Canon MT-24EX Twin Flash with the different light level of each side. But only flash is not enough, I use D.I.Y. diffuser to make the light softer.Equipment
Camera: Canon EOS 7D Lens: Canon MPE 65 mm. Focal Length: 65 mm Shutter Speed: 1/125 sec Aperture: f/11 ISO: 160 Canon MT-24EX Twin Flash No TripodInspiration
Spider is an amazing one with 8 eyes. Most people are scared with spiders and see it an ugly animal. So, one day that I first saw it closely with my MPE Lens, I was amazed with its cuteness, its big eyes and its details. It was too cute! After then, I wanted to show to my friends and others to see that spider was cute. I can say that most of my friends are waiting to see my spider photos and they like it as the way I present. No more scary spider at all !!Editing
I used Photoshop program to adjust lighting, cropping and sharpening. It was 3 photo stacking. In my camera bag
It is important for me to prepare everything in one bag both equipment and myself. In my bag, it always has Canon 7D, MPE 65 mm. lens, MT-24 Ex Twin Flash, my D.I.Y.diffuser, battery for camera and flash with extra set, 2-3 memory cards, flash light, lens cleaner kit and insect repellent. And me, I have to ware long sleeve shirt, hat and trekking shoes to prevent myself from sunshine and poisonous insects (especially ants, mosquitos) as it may annoy me while I am taking a photo.Feedback
To take photo of any insects or animals, you have to learn their character and life style and practice how to get closer to them. The eyes of spider are the most attractive point. To take photo of spiders, you need to focus at their eyes. Some spider is always jump, you have to be patient and wait for the right time. It is challenge as you need to take its photo from its place. I mean, do not kill and move it from its place. You will get the nice shot and valuable when you take its photo without annoying it. Keep it nature!
