It was shot for a local cupcake patisserie to highlight one of their new flavours, they had know idea I was doing this until I presented them with the photoTime
It was taken mid afternoon on my kitchen tableLighting
my main light was a 80cm octabox to the left of my camera, with a 30x30cm softbox as fill from the rightEquipment
Canon 1D mkIV, Canon 100mm Macro, Manfrotto 190 tripod and ball head, 2x canon 580exII and a YN565ex in the octabox and a YN565ex in the softbox. all the flashes are triggered by YN622c'sInspiration
The inspiration for this shot came from the coffee beans on top of this espresso cupcake, thats where the idea for the bag of beans came from. I had the idea of the beans spilling out of their hessian sack encompassing the cupcakeEditing
No not really, a little sharpening due to it being a RAW file, some colour balance and dust removal. This is basically as I saw it on the tableIn my camera bag
It depends on which bag I'm grabbing, my "grab and go" kit normally has a Canon 1D mk IV with either a 24-70 f2.8L or a 70-200 f2.8L and a 580EXII flash, batteries, cable release and extra memory. I normally use this bag for my landscapes or if I'm just out and about for fun. My main bag is a Pelican Case, it hold 2x Canon 1Dmk IV, lenses: 24-70 f2.8L; 70-200 f2.8L; 100mm 2.8 macro; 300 f5.6L and a 17-40 F4: 6 speedlites a mixture of canon 580exII, YN565 and YN560; my YN622c triggers; batteries for cameras, flashes and triggers; a light meter; a grey card; pens, business cards and insect repellant (we all need this in our bags)Feedback
Advice is to take your time, play with the shot, move the lights about move your angle shoot from high and low.
