Location
A dragon fly trying to move to freedom through a window pane. Taken in South Africa, which is known for the Big 5 animals, but sometimes the little creatures are as impressive. The subject was granted freedom to the outside world after offering me the opportunity to capture it's beauty.Time
Taken during late afternoon, when the light was casting a soft pink hue through the window pane.Lighting
The sunsets are naturally spectacular in this part of South Africa, so there was a natural glow shining through the pane. The lighting and reflection was perfect as it was, no additional lighting was required.Equipment
An impromptu photo taken with a Canon EOS 70 D, no flash required.Inspiration
The constant wing-buzzing, incessant attempt at escape attracted my attention. Living in South Africa and having wildlife on my doorstep attunes me to observe the creatures that share my world.Editing
The blue / pink hue from the sunset was deepened to enhance and highlight the window reflection. In my camera bag
I always, always, carry my Canon EOS70D with me as I see the world in photos (even though I have yet to treat myself to a photography course, or for that matter, learn all the functions of my camera - I'm sure there are many photographers out there in the same boat). A Canon Zoom Lens EF 100-400mm, and a Canon Macro Lens 100mm 1:2.8 USM complete my travel bag.Feedback
Look out for the little creatures. Lie down on the ground, or under a low hanging tree or shrub, and look up at the underside of the leaves for some surprises.
