Location
I took this photo in my personal backyard in Cape Town, Western Cape, South Africa. Just outside Muizenberg. I also think these birds are excellent! They keep the bug population under control.Time
The time I took this photo was about 07:30 by us and seeing as it was still pretty early this Hadida thought or knew that there was a lot of grubs for it to have a feast. The dog even chased it, but it returned, and that is when I took the photo.Lighting
The light was early morning at the time of the photo. There was no time or need for other lightEquipment
I used just a Canon EOS 700D 75 by 300 lens. I had to push the ISO up a bit to get a better photo in the light that was available. Aperture: f/5.6 ISO: 800 Exposure: 1/80 Focal Length: 255/1Inspiration
If you look at the photo you will see there is a red piece on the nose of the bird ... I wanted to capture that! It was also on the spur of the moment.Editing
No post processing was done. It just came out right lolIn my camera bag
I have only two lenses for now an 18 X 55 and the 75 X300 Canon I am looking for an external flash and a 10 X20 lens.Feedback
It all depends on what type of lens you have. With the 18 to 55 I would be closer to the subject and make sure that the background is a bit further away. With the 75 X 300 ... ahh this is an awesome lens. If it fits into the viewfinder, you have a shot! Not for close work at all
