After a long tube ride during a rainy day I came out of the station and saw an amazing colorful sky in the midst of one of the most urban cityscapes I know. Would people stop and enjoy? Were they at least noticing that spectacle? They were not. In general people were just rushing on the streets to shop or get back home after a full day of work. But, when I stopped to photograph some people finnally stopped and admired it, including the lady in front of me. I have aimed the wonderful sky, but there is something far more interesting in this shot that I ended up capturing: it is the incredible cosmopolitan vibe that London has. Multiple ethnicities walking on the streets, mixed with the iconic double decker bus helped to compose this shot.Editing
Not too much. The initial intention was to photograph the sky, not the crowd. So I reduced the exposition of foreground. Emphasized the colors of the bus, the green luminous stripe on the upper right side and the sky, leaving the impression that evertything else was black and white. In my camera bag
Currently a full frame camera body (Canon 6D), stock lens, 50mm. A Speedlite. Couple extra batteries, filters (ND, haze, UV). Really nothing too special.Feedback
Create your references. I have studied Bresson enough to understand the importance of a moment. And if that moment is really special, no technical aspects of the shot will really eclipse it. Bring in your inner Bresson, Ansel Adams, Sebastiao Salgado, Steve McCurry, know when and where to use each of them and photograph. Learn all techniques, master them, then through them away and find your own. No shortcuts are allowed.
