Location
This photo was taken in Yosemite Valley in the meadow opposite Yosemite Village and Yosemite Falls.Time
This photo was taken around 6 in the evening.Lighting
The lighting in the Valley is unique because of the high canyon walls surrounding the Valley.Equipment
This was a hand held shot using a Nikon D600 and 16-35mm Nikon lens.Inspiration
This photo was taken the same evening I took The Eruption and The Eruption II. After I had finished the shot of Half Dome and the orange cloud above it I almost missed the show behind me were the sun was going down. So I crossed the road and walked into the meadow and begin taking photos until it was to dark. This was one of the last shots I took that evening.Editing
I use Adobe LR and a plugin from On1 Software. In my camera bag
I usually carry 16-35 and 80-400 Nikon lenses. I also carry an assortment of ND filters and tripod.Feedback
My advice for this shot would be to have a tripod which mine was in my car but to far to get to without missing the show. I would say I was fortunate to have a camera that was good in low light situations and still produced a nice image even though hand held.
