The hole here is in the piece of ice. The same one as in the ice ankle boot in the nearby photo.

Behind The Lens

Location

Taken from the island of Ile-Bizard near Montreal Canada. Looking across the lake of Two Mountains

Time

Sunset in Winter so would be around 4pm.

Lighting

I enjoy sunset photography and rich colors. low light at sunset always an advantage

Equipment

Canon SX60HS. Hand held. No flash.

Inspiration

I love sunset and sunrise photography in Winter there's always opportunities with ice blocks and forms on the edges of the lakes. Sunset through this hole in an ice block was a good fun idea that worked especially well

Editing

In this case just slight color enhance and contrast

In my camera bag

Just my Canon SX 60 HS. And Samsung smart phone.

Feedback

Just get out there at sunset and sunrise times of day and the inspiration will bowl you right over. If you have no camera with you try some of the settings in any high end cell phone. A seriously underestimated piece of photographic equipment. Just try the different modes and settings. Have fun.
