Behind The Lens

Location

Here's what to expect if you attend the annual Royal International Air Tattoo held at RAF Fairford.

Time

Flying starts at around mid morning and continues throughout the day until 18:00.

Lighting

I panned with the aircraft to show just how fast they can get to on takeoff. It was an overcast day and add adjustments to the iso to suit.

Equipment

This photo was taken using my old canon 40D and a Sigma 175-500 lens.

Inspiration

I was just getting to grips with the equipment I had and wanted to get used to the idea of panning to get the motion blur in the background.

Editing

Adjusted some colour levels and adjusted the exposure compensation a little.

In my camera bag

Currently I have a 7D mk1 and a canon 100-400mm is lens. I also have a Canon 600d with a standard 18-55 lens.

Feedback

A steady hand depending on shutter speeds used whilst hand held. And getting used to panning and following the subject on the move.
