Behind The Lens

Location

I took this at my home in Cork, Ireland.

Time

In the evening, just before Lily's bed time (My Daughter, the subject.)

Lighting

All the lights in the house were off, with just the Christmas Tree lights turned on.

Equipment

Nikon D3100, my Manfrotto Tripod and my kit lens. No flash was used.

Inspiration

I had seen a similar picture on the imgur, image sharing website, I decided I wanted to see how it looked.

Editing

I just boosted the colours, and made everything a little clearer. It came out pretty well straight out of the camera.

In my camera bag

Nikon D3100, 18-55mm, 40mm, 55-200mm. SB-400 flash, wired remote, spare batteries, spare memory cards. Cleaning kit. Now have a D7100 too. :)

Feedback

Find a subject who will stay still, don't use a 2 year old, as she wants to see after every picture and refuses to stand still for multiple shots. Experiment and have fun!
