Location
The photo was taken in near small farming villages, not far from the Stuttgart Airport. I had previously lived in a small town not too far from the Stuttgart airport where they have many small villages separated by farming villages. Then most of the dirt and gravel farming roads have now been paved turning them into small cycling and hiking paths. At some intersections they will also have some park benches where hikers can take a short break.Time
The photo was taken in December of 2013 shortly before sunset at a quarter past 5 pm. During the night it would be cold so in the morning there would be a light frost on the farmland.Lighting
During the early winter sunset set is a bit earlier then in ChicagoEquipment
I used a Nikon D90 with a 50mm. 1/200 at f5.0 and iso 200. I don't remember but due to the faster shutter speed I probably didn't have a tripod with me and the image was taken hand held.Inspiration
In the southern part of Germany near Stuttgart they have many rolling hills within the farmland. I enjoyed seeing the small mountains in the distance as well as seeing a single tree in certain angles or views. Sometimes when going for walks or bicycle rides I see a tree or landscaping that draws me to it.Editing
I believe that I just darkened the sky a touch and turned the greens a little more golden yellowIn my camera bag
Most of the photos that I take are while commuting to and from work on my bicycle. So most often I carry a Nikon D7000 which I bought used and most often my 35mm f1.8 lens. I Just use a top loader bag when commuting so I only carry one lens with me. If travelling, I also like to take my 50mm f1.8 and 24mm f2.8. I think that my 35 is sharper than my 24mm. I also have an old Metz 50 flash and Nikon sb700 flash. I have a lighter weight manfrotto tripod then a bit sturdier manfrotto tripod with the levels on them. I started using my less expensive lighter weight tripod since it is a bit smaller and easier to carry with on longer hikes. Also, since I have a smaller camera bag with, when I leave in the morning I just take one lens with and have to use it for the entire day until I return home.Feedback
The photo I took while going down a small country path which wouldn't be so easy to spot when taking main roadways or highways.
