Love this gorgeous pic of a wild red deer stag I took while on a friends property, on the West Coast of NZTime
I was in the late afternoon when this guy decided to poke his head through the scrub for a nosy at me.Lighting
Late afternoon in a shaded valley in autumnEquipment
This was shot from a cannon 1200 with a 75mm - 300mm lensInspiration
When you come across something as majestic as this guy you cant help but push the shutter button. I have always loved animals so its not surprising that a lot of my photos are of wildlife, or the beautiful scenes I come across while looking for the wildlife! Getting out and about is the best part and anything I manage to shoot is a bonus!Editing
Some of my photos have a lot of processing but this one doesn't, just some basic adjustments in lightroom to get it looking its best. But with a model this handsome you don't need to adjust much.In my camera bag
I am still relatively new to photography so my bag is very small and contains more chocolate bars than camera equipment. I just have two lens, the telescopic one and a 18 - 55mm one. Also a couple of filters, one uv and one close up. I recently brought myself a tripod too but keep forgetting to use it.Feedback
Patience! and lots of it! Other than that just get out in nature and see what you come across, most of my photos are of things i have seen or come across while out for a wander.
