Federica just had a malignant tumor removed from her mouth. It was most likely related to a poison she ingested earlier in the year. I'm hopeful that everything will turn out okay, but I wanted a good portrait of her while she's still healthy. She will turn 14 this Summer.

Thanks so much! I'm hoping she can win as a last hurrah. She has malignant cancer, unfortunately.

By the way, I favorited your cat photo "Spitting Bokeh" a while back. It's too bad yours wasn't in the cat contest. It's really great!

Thanks for the kind words. Federica is not doing well unfortunately. The end is very near. I am glad to at least have had 14 wonderful years with her. I wasn't expecting her photo to end up on Viewbug's homepage, so I was pleasantly surprised to have received so many kind words and encouragement. I wish she knew how famous she is! :)

Thank you kindly. Your cat photos are superb! You really capture the facial expressions at just the right moment (not an easy thing to do). Very well done.

hope she will get better ....i read somewhere about marijuana leafs cured childrens cancer parents move just in order to get access legally to the less destructive treatment like chemo..teenagers from veggie state under chemo treatment recovered well, walking and playing...are some you tube movies but here is not possible to copy paste the link....success forward!in life and art! :) how long can a cat live? 14 yrs is much for her...my uncle have had 5 cats, Samantha was older than I that time and lived...pretty long! I was impressed the way he talk to them and they listened...best wishes, and good health to Federica

Thank you very much. She is about half the weight she used to be, but she is still alive against all the odds. It's been about a year since the diagnosis, and they only expected her to live a few months. She still seems engaged with life and eats when possible and explores the outside, so I don't think she is suffering toomuch yet.

fantastic image, i was drawn to it because of the soft background against the power or the eyes of the cat directtly captured in the center.

Thanks very much. Yeah, she always had a very intense stare. She was the smartest cat I ever had. I'm glad Iwas able to capture some nice portraits before she passed.

Great shot of your beautiful cat!! So sorry for your loss, you gave this gorgeous creature a wonderful and loving home for 14 years, not to mention all the love and affection she gave in return.
