Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in Thailand back in 2014 while touring the tiger temples which is nestle in a gorge with lots of trees and shade.

Time

I remember it was a very hot afternoon around 1 or 2pm, the sun was strong and there was a lot of strong shadows under the trees and cave like opening along the bottom of the cliff walls.

Lighting

In this case I didn't have to many choices to work with, cause it was controlled by the tour. So I mainly shot under the dark shadows of the large trees around the park. But i had to wait for my opportunity.

Equipment

Back then i had my Canon 550d and my Tamron 18 - 270mm f/3.5-6.3 .

Inspiration

This was my first time to ever get close to large animals let alone have the opportunity to photograph them. So I was in the moment, the chance to photograph this Majestic creatures in their calm habitat.

Editing

Only the basic in lightroom process. i like the dark shades in this photo and enhance the colors around it.

In my camera bag

Well now a days I carry my Canon 6D mII and 60D bodies coupled with wide angle Canon 16-35mm f/4 L is usm and recently got this Macro Canon 100mm f/2.8L macro is usm and my quick go to Canon 24-105mm f/4.0L usm. Tho I only take a couple at a time.

Feedback

Wait and be aware of your surroundings, what you might have miss could be behind you so look back and above every so often. Cheers!
