I took this photo at the Big Bend National Park in the summer of 2015Time
Well, this photo was taken later in the afternoon as I remember checking in at the park past 11am and hicked for some several hours up the mountain.Lighting
Through the middle of the hike, the clouds were getting in formation on the side of the mountain. The light was getting diffused. It was still very harsh lighting for my taste, yet I was so lucky to capture the bird on the shade of the tree.Equipment
I had my Fujifilm X Pro 1 with me and the Fuji 55-200mm 1:3.5-4.8 lensInspiration
I've always wanted to photograph nature and therefore the reason I decided to go on a hike up to Emory PeakEditing
I usually just fix the lighting suck as shadows, highlights, and colors to match what I have seen with my eyes. I managed to edit in Lightroom 5.In my camera bag
I consist on two different cameras. My Canon 6D, which I love, and my Fuji X Pro 1. For my canon I have the 50mm 1.2L, a spare 50mm 1.8 STM, a 24-105mm F4L, and a 85mm 1.8 lens. Lastly for my Fuji I only have the 55-200mm 1:3.5-4.8 lens and the 56mm 1.2 lens.Feedback
Hiking up to a mountain peak is exciting and you never know what you're gonna encounter. So make sure you have your camera on hand for those unexpected moments that you might miss if you slack.
