Behind The Lens

Location

ON ONE OF MANY BACK COUNTRY ROADS WE HAVE HERE IN MARION COUNTY FLA. IT'S HEAVILY WOODED ON BOTH SIDES WITH ABOUT 50 FEET THAT THE COUNTY MOWS ABOUT 3 TIMES A YEAR. DEER SOMETIMES GRAZE THESE AREAS IN LATE A.M. I HAD BEEN THERE MANY TIMES HOPING TO CATCH A SHOT BUT THE BIGGEST PROBLEM WAS GETTING IN POSITION TO SHOOT WITHOUT SPOOKING THEM. THIS YOUNG DOE THREW HER HEAD UP WHEN I GOT ONE FOOT OUT MY CAR AND WAS GONE AS MY CAMERA CLICKED .

Time

LATE AFTERNOON

Lighting

SUN WAS JUST BELOW PINES IN BACKGROUND.

Equipment

CANNON 5D MARK 2 ,24-105 ZOOM.

Inspiration

WHO DOESN'T WANT TO PHOTOGRAPH DEER IN THERE NATURAL ENVIRONMENT????

Editing

YES DUE TO EXTREME LIGHT AND DARK AREAS I HAD TO LOWER CONTRAST AND LIGHTEN SHADOWS ALSO STEPPED UP VIBRANCY . WOULD HAVE BEEN GOOD CONDITIONS FOR H.D.R. BUT DEER REFUSED TO COOPERATE .

In my camera bag

CANNON 5D,MARK 2 , 24-105 ZOOM LENS,EXTRA BATTERIES AND MEMORY CARDS, TRIPOD ,POLARIZING FILTER ,REMOTE SHUTTER RELEASE,LENS CLEANING RAG.

Feedback

LOCATE AN AREA DEER FREQUENT [ THAT'S THE HARD PART ] THE BEST TIMES OF DAY AND GET OUT THERE AND START SHOOTING .
