Well I took this photo on my dining room table on a piece of blank paper.Time
this photo was taken in the afternoon... but that doesn't really matter because it was a flash photoLighting
this was taken with my speedlite and a mini lumiquest softbox attached.Equipment
For this photo i used my canon t2i (550d), 50mm 1.8 II and about 65mm of extension tubes. the canon 420ex speedlite was off camera with an ettl wire.Inspiration
iv'e seen many macro photos but usually they have either bad lighting or a cluttered background. i thought i could just do better, so i found a spider threw it in the freezer for awhile and took its picture.Editing
well i didnt do much. the spider was pretty big and i did not crop as much as you would think. other than that it was just some color balance and curves adjustments in photoshop.In my camera bag
Im just a kid... so i dont have a lot of expensive things in my bag. Inside my Lowepro flopside 300 backpack i carry: a canon t2i, a 24mm 2.8 stm pancake lens. a 50mm 1.8 II, an ef-s 17-85 f:4-5.6, a 75--300 f:4-5.6, a 50mm 1.8 FD lens for video, a set of extension tubes, an ettl wire and a Silk sprint 150 tripod and ball head.Feedback
to take photos like this, i advise you to have an understanding of the exposure triangle and how to use a flash. other than that just play around with the location of the flash.and of the subject. oh and freeze the insect you plan to photograph first or it runs everywhere.
