I took this picture at my family farm. It has been in the family since 1881 and has seen it’s fair share of animals over the years.Time
I took this in the early evening right before the sun started to set.Lighting
I love using the entrance into the barn. It makes for a nice background. No special lighting other than natural light.Equipment

I always love new calves on the farm. They grow so fast so I love to capture them when they are so small and fresh. He was not a few days old in this picture with my mom right behind him.Editing
I did edit the photo but not much. I brightened the exposure and darkened the blacks to help the background pop. Added a little clarity.In my camera bag

Use the light to your advantage. The more you practice the better you will get. I slightly under exposed the photo as it’s easier to edit. I always try and get it right when I take the shot so it makes my job easier in processing.
