Behind The Lens

Location

This photo was taken in the courtyard of the Umayyad mosque in Damascus city, the capital of my country the Syria Arab Republic.

Time

This photo was taken during my last visit to the lovely city to my heart, Damascus.and a few days before the black days and the dirty war, which starts after the civil crisis against the Assad regime in 2011, and I didn't think one day it will be the last visit to me before the Syrian war one year later. It was Sunday afternoon and the first day working after the weekend. The day was shiny and a little bit warm - as I remember - according to the same days in February in our country which usually much colder as a winter season. Exactly it was 27-February-2011 at 1:38 PM

Lighting

I was satisfied with the sunny day, partly cloudy, there is a good contrast between shaded and shine areas. So I didn't use any kind of flashes or any equipment was involved.

Equipment

This was a shot on Sony DSC-T77 and Horizontal, vertical resolution 72 dpi, bit depth 24.

Inspiration

Actually, because it is a daytime and sunny, shiny day according to these days at winter season, and people missing the sunshine after coldness times I touched the happiness at children faces and they were running in the best peaceful place as Mesjid's courtyard, also for me as a holly Islamic place. and the shy sun rays taking the pathway through the clouds and its also trying to tell us I missed you too.

Editing

No, I didn't use any kind of masks or photoshop filters. It is original shot.

In my camera bag

The old version of cameras like my Nikon camera I have several lenses, sun filters and wide zoom in addition to the flash and other types of equipment But this Camera only extra battery and the charger also the memory card.

Feedback

Best shot happens by accident usually that's true, but for professional shots, you should take care of the sun lights direction, reflections, and to be much cooler to make a good capture, but first of all the good and simple equipment so it can help quite enough as for me.
