Location
This photo was taken on the old road between George and Knysna in South Africa. Carving through the mountains it is definitely the more scenic route between the two towns.Time
Around midday. The sky was overcast and ugly so I decided to look for other objects to photograph.Lighting
The sky was overcast, but still bright. Very boring intact, but turns out it was perfect for reflections.Equipment
Canon 60D, IS24-70 F4.0 and a Manfotto tripod.Inspiration
Initial I was just looking at the bridge and the reflection of it, but during it editing I immediately recognized the illusion of an "eye". The dark line formed by the shadow, and dark spot in the water with the brown "pupil"... It looked like a giant eye and I just had to crop and adjust a few colors to highlight that. Hence the name "Bridge Eye"Editing
Not too much, in fact appart from adjusting and enhancing some of the colors and contrasts and a bit of cropping it was pretty much done.In my camera bag
My Canon 60D, and my trusty 24-79 F4.0, a wide angle lens, telephoto lens, two Speedlights, some equipment for remote triggering and time laps timing. And my Manfrotto tripod. A sturdy tripod is a must.Feedback
Open your mind. When the sky is grey and boring you'd be suprized to find how many interesting things you can find when look down. I love Landscapes, but it was nice to learn that to make a good landscape you don't always need a wide open exspance and brilliant sky.
