Finally a proper shot of the Milky Way. The conditions last night could not have been better; low humidity, no cloud cover and it was a new moon. This is a shot looking southwest from Lake George, Ocala National Forest. Naked eye visibility was incredible, the Milky Way stretched from horizon to horizon and some Messier objects were visible.

Shot with a Canon 30d • f-2.8 • 32mm • 30 seconds • iso3200.

I used a Canon 24-70mm f-2.8 L USM (II) for this shot.
