Your work is unbeliefeable - pure art. I honestly think that you are one of the best photographers (and artists) I have ever seen...

Are you familiar with James Christensen? He's a fantasy artist that might offer some inspiration for more photos in this vein.

If you lived in the UK and Olivia was here I would be looking to ask her to sit for a portrait...but sadly John you are over in the States and so is she...Voted .k

Congratulations, its a lovely picture and perfect portrait in the sense of the word. (Not like so many other entries which are to me a misunderstanding of a "portrait" there seem to be no line between real portraits, fashjon photography, boudior-, fantasy, distortion, etc)

Location
I took this photo in an old attached shed to a house in Vermont. Family was getting together, so we rented this farm house to stay for a long weekend.Time
The Time of day I believe was afternoon, and the light was natural coming through a window.Lighting
Again, the lighting was natural, coming through a window, and it was the only light coming in this shed. When I looked through the lens, I knew I had a great shot. The girl in the photo is my grand niece Olivia. I have done a few photo shoots with her and she is a natural!Equipment
Used a Canon Rebel T2i with a Canon EF-S 55-250mm lens. No flash, just natural light.Inspiration
My grand niece inspired me to take this shot. We knew our family was getting together and I asked her a week before getting there, if she would mind a photo shoot. She loves getting dressed in costumes, so she brought a few, along with the hair in the photo is a wig! Most people that don't know her think it's here real hair. She is also a very beautiful girl, and a natural at posing, even with out direction.Editing
I used photoshop CS5 with some textures to give it that old world look and enhance some of the color. In my camera bag
Depending on where I am going, I like to travel light, yet I want to make sure I have everything I need. Camera, at least two lens, remote, tripod.Feedback
Take the time to find a setting, and take a lot of shots. Above all experiment with the light.
