Location
Taken in Porto in Portugal, at a place where Douro river meet Atlantic Ocean.Time
I went to take some pictures of the sunset. I spent an hour to hunt a good light and good capture. I was waiting for the waves breaking on the breakwater and lighthouse. This is the last picture from the series - the best in my opinion.Lighting
The light was very strong and the sun was shining directly into the lens. I choose right composition but still tried to avoid flares.Equipment
This picture was taken by my old canon 400D and canon 70-200mm f4L lens. no tripod and filters was used.Inspiration
My inspiration was to find the contours of the waves hitting the shoreline. I looked for strong light to be sure that on the final picture i will get more shapes then details in shadows.Editing
One raw was used at post-processing. some correction on levels, contrast and BW conversion. In my camera bag
good question, cause it depends :) when i'm going to shoot some specific places, then i take only necessary stuff. when i'm on travel, then i take a lot of stuff. there is always few lenses like wide angle and tele zoom and of course the lens which i called "walk-zoom" - universal lens for travelling. also i have always a tripod and many filters like polarized filter, UV, neutral grey filters or graduated filters.Feedback
when you have a good composition but you also want to have "angry-water", try to take more then one picture. the water and waves are uncertainties. So if I have more pictures then I have more this strange shapes from water ;) and always we should be patient :)
