Behind The Lens
Location
It was taken in a friends houseTime
around 8 or 9 in the eveningLighting
i was experimenting with lighting. i wanted the light to look like it was coming from a lamp post that will make a highlight on her face. I made a lot of test to get the right amount of power, angle, distance and making the flare that way.Equipment
I used a d5100 with a kit lens. a bare flash outside the door and another flash with a softbox on camera left with minimal amount of power to light the subjects faceInspiration
i wanted to show something dark, stressed or being tired. its a spur of the moment idea actuallyEditing
minimal cropping and just converting it to a tasty black and white photo :)In my camera bag
i have 1 camera body a d5100 with battery grip, a kit lens, a manual 50mm nikkor, a 70-300 sigma apo with macro, 2 flash units sometimes 3, a set of gels, 2 remote receivers, a remote trigger, my diy reflector bowl, a 10 deg. grid, a tethering cable and a laptop.Feedback
dont hesitate to try out something new, make plans or if its a spur of the moment idea don't hesitate to test it out first. talk to your model before hand of how the shoot will be and what kind of images you want to produce. play with lights and positions.
