I took this photo on a very mysterious morning on a meadow near Vienna...the sun in this image is actually rising above the skyline of Vienna.Time
I got up an hour before sunrise to drive half an hour to this spot near my home in Vienna. The photo was shot like 10 or 15 minutes after sunrise and I had the luck that some mist made it glow like this.Lighting
Being a lucky guy the light was very soft with the sun being covered by some mist - so a good and balanced exposure was no problem.Equipment
I've used my Canon 5d Mk II, the incredibly fast Canon 135/2 L and Berlebach mini tripod. With my tripod I can put my camera almost on ground leven withouth losing stability.Inspiration
I always love to get the rising sun in my bokeh when shooting nature or macro photos. On this day I could wait for the sun rising higher without getting overexposed parts in my pictures because the light was so soft. This way I've managed to get this triangular composition with the small pasque flower seeming to look at the rising sun and the title of this photo was born.Editing
There wasn't much post-processing needed here because the shot was well exposed - so I only increased some details on the (nik color efex - detail extractor) and worked on contrasts and tones a little.In my camera bag

Use the given opportunities and if possible prepare a shot. I had been knowing the perfect sun rise place of this flower from recent visits and always though I could do a shot like this with it...I just had to wait for the perfect conditions and hoped for the flower being still in good shape.
