This phot was taken in one of my favourite cities - Cardiff.Time
This has got to be one of my favourite images and was taken on the last day of one of my breaks to the city. It was towards midday and the timing was perfect to capture the incredible sky over Cardiff Bay.Lighting
The day was warm but with some cloud covering which prompted me to grab this image. I wanted something different than the norm and the lighting effects were just perfect.Equipment
This shot was taken with my Canon 550D standard lens.Inspiration
I am always looking for new and interesting ways to showcase landscapes and cityscapes. I love Cardiff Bay and wanted something extra special. When I noticed the way the lighting was shining through the couds I knew that this would give a spectacular image. I captured it from different angles so that I could choose the perfect shot.Editing
I am a lover of HDR imagery as I think that it gives a unique quality to a landscape. I used Adobe Photoshop to achieve this effect which gives it such a spectacular appeal. In my camera bag
To be honest, when I am out and about I usually just have my Canon camera and a standard lens (along with a spare battery). If I am going for something more specialised then I will pack my zoom and macros lenses but as I like to travel light and be able to take a picture of life as it happens I tend to jusr have the basics.Feedback
If, as I am, pretty much limited in my travel destinations (mainly UK based) just become aware of your surroundings - there is always something interesting to be found. If you are looking for cityscapes then just go out with your camera and take a leisurely stroll around your chosen city but stay on the lookout for an interesting perspective or natural lighting effect.
