Behind The Lens

Location

This was taken in my front garden early in spring after a nights rain.

Time

This was taken at around 8am in the morning after a night of light rain. I put my jacket on and the proceeded to wander round to see what was about. Some of the most interesting things can be seen early in the morning.

Lighting

The day was slightly overcast with a very watery sun occasionally appearing between the clouds so I had to time it between the clouds.

Equipment

This was shot with my trusty old Fujifilm HS10 bridge camera which is all I ever use for my photos. I had a 10x lens on the front and I used a mini tripod.

Inspiration

I just loved the colour of the crocus being reflected in the rain drops.

Editing

I did crop the photo and did a low setting contrast enhancement.

In my camera bag

As my camera is a bridge camera I only carry that and a 10x lens to put on the front for close ups, mini tripod, lens wipes and cloths and 2 sets of rechargeable batteries.

Feedback

Don't be afraid to look down at details which some might miss and be prepared to crawl around in the grass etc.... Some of the best things can be seen at ground level and don't be afraid of looking a bit silly while crawling around! It can become a quite a conversation starter with people asking you what you are doing! Most of all take photos of what interests YOU and enjoy it !
