Behind The Lens

Location
I took it in the "green coast" in Lima, Peru. It's a beautifull area of cliffs and ocean with a lot of piers and ships.
Time
At 6:30pm aprox.
Lighting
I wanted to share the amazing light that the coast of Lima can offer us. But at the same time, i had this idea of showing the amazing pierd that are all along the way. This is the result of both. Light and arquitecture, plus the amazing sunset of summer and the perfect position of the sun, make this an amazing place and landscape to shoot.
Equipment
At the time i had a T5i, and was using a 18-135mm kit lens, with a sturdy tripod and remote release control. But the most important ingredient was my ND 400 that helped me softening the water and be able to male this a long exposure shot.
Inspiration
This pier is property of a club i belong. I had already take similar photos when i didn't even have a DSLR. For many years i've seen this pier and know i could show something amazing from this perspective.
Editing
Yes. First, i bring down highlights and open shadows. After that, i add some saturation and contrast, and added a little (very little) of clarity. Then, pressing the control key, i bring up the whites beeing carefull that nothings pop to much, and the same with blacks but to the other side. After this basics adjustsments the key is to bring down the exposure of the sky to bring on the details, so i used a density filter for this matter. All editing was in LIghtroom.
In my camera bag
Now, i have my 6D, a 24-105L f/4, a Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 Vi DC, a shutter release, lens hood, extra batteries and always my ND filters.
Feedback
Just follow your pasion. My passion is landscape photography, and combining this with practicing of effort makes the difference. So go out, practice, and keep shooting.
